The Lachsbach trout farm survived reunification. Most of the workers are already retired, but Mr. and Mrs. Tanneberger keep the business running. From feeding the fish to smoking them and selling them, everything is done by hand. Even the most renovated parts of the facility have since become outdated. And there is no successor in sight. “Somehow you always just keep going,” says the fisherman and goes about his work. Where does this attitude towards life come from? Is it the imprint of life in the GDR or change itself that made them strong? With an affectionate perspective, RINNE FÜR RINNE portrays the Tannebergers, who are emblematic of an entire generation of parents and grandparents.
