Sculptor Pablo sets up a studio on a remote stretch of coast on a peninsula at the western edge of Galicia. In the lowlands of this damp region, brick and roof-tile manufacturing once flourished; today, Pablo works with the remnants of that industry. In the meantime, the area has become a tourist destination – something we never get to see, however, since the season is already over. In a temporarily deserted holiday home, Pablo leads a solitary, reclusive life. Over time, he becomes increasingly isolated, cuts off contact with his family and friends, and begins to imagine a new identity for himself. When his former lover Andrea returns from Canada and comes to see him, he once again feels the urge to flee.
