Younes is eleven years old and preparing for a tryout in soccer. Then, his father is arrested, being accused by his boss in the sugar factory of setting the fields on fire. Younes finds out that on the night in question his father had been among the leaders of the strike and protest, discussing demands with other workers. With this background, the boy tries to convince witnesses to testify. And thus begins his journey during which he forgets his love of soccer and takes the pressure off his family…
On his journey, Younes learns what it means to work for people involved in petty crime. He learns about a little girl who, due to her family's poverty, was sold to a bad man, and about friends who rat on others to be promoted. And of one thing lost in the face of a system of corruption and its victims … a gem called “truth”.
