One village, two pubs. The prodigal son Cal Harley returns to this seemingly idyllic corner of his hometown as a burned-out musician. And he soon discovers that the family pub is in deep debt, his brother has had enough of the responsibility, his father has had enough of life, and the owner of the trendy pub across the street is enjoying not only business success but also the company of Cal’s first great love. Salvation is being sought from the tap: the Harleys plan to compete in the prestigious Great British Beer Awards with a home-brewed ale. A wonderfully chaotic competition between the two pubs takes its course.
