In this documentary, Gabriele Hochleitner tells the story of her aunt Theresia and her uncle Hans. “Trog” is the name of the 500-year-old farmhouse where Uncle Hans, the last farmer in the family, passed away, leaving it empty ever since. Here is where the family stories of the past three generations unfolded; the emotions and experiences of the many children born here in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s are intertwined with this house. Eleven Trog children from the last generation create a fascinating portrait of their mother, their love, and the home through their memories. With great empathy for the family, the director pieces together the memories, puzzle piece by puzzle piece, and combines them with atmospheric images and the soulful alphorn sounds of the late Fritz Moßhammer.
